ap credits

what is a credit equivalent to in college? How long would the course be?

Depends on the school - u should check with ur own school regarding its AP credit policy cuz some will actually give u credit, thus reducing the # of classes u need to take, while others allow u only to place out of the intro classes, but u still have to take the same # of classes. Most do a combo of both, placing a restriction on the # of classes u can actually reduce to get ur degree.

Since theres so many APs Im not gonna bother listing them all but here are some of them, generally speaking, this is the same regardless of the school, tho the course titles/numbers might vary a little.

Calc AB --- Calc I
Calc BC --- Calc I and II
Chem --- General Chem I and II
Physics C --- General Physics I and II (Calc-based/for majors)
Physics B --- some schools give Physics I and II for nonmajors
Bio --- General Biology I and II
English Lang - Usually freshman eng comp
English lit - usually a course in American lit
any history - usually the eqv. of 2 semesters worth of that intro history
foreign lang - credit usually up to the eqv of intermediate lang sequence
etc...
of course these credits are based on the actual score u recieved, some that are for 2 semesters-you might get only 1 semester credit if ur score is a 4 and not a 5, etc... Again, as I said b4, check with ur school to find out the exact courses and credit policy

Macro, Micro, and Psychology are only one semester
