AP Economics on THURSDAY

Interesting. I thought mrs. bray was the only one teaching APEX microecon. ANyway, I had to pay full for mine, cuz, well, with all the budget cuts @ our school, they JUST stopped paying for apex courses, which sucked. Selections are fine, but looking at their diagnostic test for, say, AP Chem, the curricula for APEX isn't very impressive at all. Though it could be a good option if a school, like yours, doesn't offer many AP classes.

I didn't take any econ courses but I have been working sporatically throughout the year. Wednesday night will be cram night.
Off to study Gov't AP.......

Do you all know, when the FRQ says to explain, exactly how much of an explaination they want from us?

Take the 2004 FRQ 1. b. (Micro econ), where it asks where the socially optimum output is and explain how you determined it.... would just saying that MSC=MSB be enough... or would we actually have to describe why MSC equals MSB?

danielsjang: There are lots of budget cuts happening at our school, too... fortunately for us, Pennsylvania law requires school districts to pay for online courses for students living within the district boundaries. My sis is dropping out of the school district but enrolling in full-time online school next year because of all the educational spending cuts being made, but the school district is still required to pay for her full tuition, fieldtrips, everything. Very good deal here in PA. ^_^

menosdetres: In this particular situation, I don't think you need to elaborate much further. It can't hurt you to add extra info... I believe on all AP exams, the scorers are told to ignore incorrect/additional information unless it flat-out contradicts what you said previously.

i agree with jpt0509... what i would do is write in BIG LETTERS MSC=MSB and just to make sure, say what msc and msb are abbreviated for and box it. that's all they're probably looking for - so i'd do that and then when i finish the FR, i'll go back and add in some bs that they might read through (but i doubt it). most graders have a rubric and they only look for whatever's on the rubric. it's straightforward and FR graders don't plan on spending all their time reading for extraneous information.

i'm taking micro tomorrow. i took the class online through broward virtual and i just started reviewing this morning. i'm just going to finish the book by tonight and do a test and get sleep.

I'm taking both tests tomorrow as well and took Micro 1st semester and Macro 2nd semester... I really don't understand how some of you can learn it all in one night, I'm not a good crammer!

Anyway, here are some of the predictions my teacher made for FRQ:
externalities for a short FRQ, resource market, maybe firm vs. industry graphs, monopolies for sure.

Good luck everyone!

I was originally going to take both exams, but I canceled the macro one and will only take micro. Is micro test really easier? I think macro would be more interesting to learn. What do you guys think?

Okay is anyone else cramming like it is their job right now? Want to get some kind of discussion thread going?

Is elasticity (i.e., unit elastic) on the macro exam?

im gnona stay up late learnign all of micro

hopefully i can geta 5.

Elasticity is probably on the exam :)

elasticity is most likely to be found on MICRO part though.
but doesn't hurt to know it, it's not that hard.

lol same thing as redhare !

pr book the day before the test !!!

my head hurts so bad...im suppose to be good in econ and i got a feelin im gunna bomb tomorrow

lol, i'm starting macro right now...took the course last summer
test in 6 hrs...i'm screwed

you can learn macro in a couple hours. trust me.

the graphs are nowhere near as bad as micro :p

How many have used the AP Exam Review from APEX Learning? Do you think the diagnostic tests and the test prep material was helpful?

The only thing I use APEX for is the released exams they have on it.

I doubt that the preparation material is that helpful... seems like boring videos and what not.

Anyways, it's midnight here in Alaska. I finished reading up on Micro...

I have just arrived after finishing the test. It was fairly simple, hope all did well for a certain 4 if not 5.

"you can learn macro in a couple hours. trust me.

the graphs are nowhere near as bad as micro"

I concur. I just spent the whole night reading the Kaplan review book and still haven't gotten micro down yet.

Should I just skim over "International Economics"? It's in its own little section in the book - does that mean it's not going to be in the exams?
