AP Economics question

Which should I consider doing first, AP micro or macro? I heard they're both really hard.....has anyone taken this courses? If I do it, it will be online.

AP Macro-the course gives you an overview of world economics, whereas Micro pertains to an individual set of companies inside the global sphere of economics.

thanks.....but can anyone tell me how hard the course is?

The formulas that you need for AP Macro are simple arithmetic: adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying. The concepts behind the formulas are straightforward. The graphs are straightforward and easy to read. The concepts are a lot of x happens then the government/fed does y.

AP Macro really isn't a lot of math, it's just a lot of graphs. I can't speak for AP micro because my school doesn't offer it, but AP macro is a challenge.

Personally, I wouldn't do either without a tutor or mentor to ask for help if you don't understand the material.

Both courses are easy.

Economics is easy in general, or at least the economics you do in high school.

Econ is the best. Lots of conceptual stuff, but it's not terribly difficult. I would take Macro first (Macro is like an overview, Micro gets a lot more specific). Overall, though, they're not hugely related.

both r easy, but micro i think is easier, so do micro, and then macro... if u want to do both...

Uhm I did IB higher level econ and in the IB you start with micro.. I liked that because you see things on a smaller scale and then widen your view to the next 3 sections, Macro-> Intl Econ -> Development. I grasped things very well in this order; so I say micro first.

Edit: by the way yeah micro is easier so perhaps thats another reason to begin with it

lol lots of different answers.......anyone else?

I took AP Macro in school and took the exam and my teacher taught us some Micro. My teacher thinks that it's essential to take Macro first and I would agree(the college I'm going to even offers Macro before Micro). As for how hard Macro is, it's not the hardest AP exam ever(it's not that long) but it's not a blowoff AP course and would require a reasonable amount of memorization and work. Do econ if you really want to, but expect to spend some time on it and be confused, especially without help.

I took both the same year self-study, I did Micro first, because there is more of a variety of material. Macro is just 4 or 5 concepts reapplied in a bunch of forms.
