Should I start with AP Micro or Macro economics?

I can take either this coming fall semester, but I'm not sure which one to take. For now, I'm not entirely sure what I want to major in, so the class is purely for my economics credit that I need.

Well micro is typically taught first, but my school only offered macro, so I took macro first and self-studied micro second. IMHO micro is more difficult than macro, so macro first then micro.

We actually start with macro. Agree with above that macro is easier than micro.

We were taught with micro first, which I think makes more sense if you understand supply and demand in terms of micro before macro

I started with micro, and I thought micro was wayyy easier. I didn’t get macro at all until like 3 days before the AP exam lol. But I would start with micro first, because some of the macro curriculum includes micro.

wow… conflicting opinions here

Macro hands down. At my school so many take it over micro AND it’s arguably the easier of the two economic APs

Start with Macro. It provides the foundation for Micro and is significantly easier.

My school only offers Micro. Some students self-study Macro in the first semester, since Micro is only offered in the second.

I’d start with Macro as well. I took a watered-down version of it 8th grade and found it kind of useful when I took Micro as a HS senior. In my opinion, it’s a lot more general and involves stuff you’d hear about in the real world (eg: GDP, stocks, etc.)

Good luck!
