AP English Language/Composition Post Test

Me: It ruin the global economy and a few families’ financial stati are nothing compared to millions of international farmers that depend on grocers to buy their produce.

haha @tennisboi

it was so fun! I really liked the essays and the MC was so easy. ah it was enjoyable. so hoping for a 5 to make up for a disappointing french exam

What is it with you people and finishing the reading section in 35 minutes…? Did you not even read the passages? Sometimes it just perplexes me how some people do it so fast.

Anyways for me, i thought I did alright, better on the essays than on the MC. I was up to like #45, so i bubbled in a mix of b’s and c’s for the last 9 questions. The MC i felt was hard but that’s just me. maybe mid 30’s/54

The synthesis essay - pretty good, wasted a lot of time on it however, and only left an hour for the hour two essays. 3 pages.

Analytical essay - good. 2 pages

Argument essay - pretty good. 3 pages

anyways, expecting like a 4… hopefully not a high 3 according to one of the calculators i used.

You’re an inspiration yayreading. If only all of us could be all yay when we were reading and taking ap english exams

Hey noldi I would delete/edit out specifics in the above post, just because the ap exam guy is definitely watching you right now. As for the mult choice problem, my advice would mainly be to kinda skim the passages and then read questions that ask you to refer back to passages in detail. alot of people just read both times in detail and it’s super time consuming

Thanks for the sarcasm, but you never really know…

Do you think 10 wrong on MC, essays 7, 8, 5 could be a 5?

how did you guys answer the second part of the synthesis essay question?

I doubt the AP exam guy is watching you. If you’ve ever been to the SAT section of this board after the SATs (also by college board) everyone discusses all of the answers even though you have to sign a written statement in cursive not to discuss the questions ever.

i just deleted it to be safe

In the hip hop passage, was the 1st paragraph mainly about the origin or importance of hiphop?

I thought the test went really well! The essays were much easier than expected, especially the argument prompt. Probably the best I did out of all of my APs :)

noldi; i completely agree with you. A lot of people are just bs’ing when they say they finished in 35 minutes. Realistically thats like a question done every 30 seconds and thats if you read the passages really quick.

and what does that person mean by “the ap exam person is def watching you”

Hmmm…unlike most of you all, I found the argumentative essay very easy. Except that now that I look back on it, I might’ve written John Steinbeck’s The Great Gatsby. face palm While I was organizing my essay, I was thinking about using either Gatsby or the Grapes of Wrath. All I can remember is writing The and a G. Stupid. The AP readers are going to think I’m stupid. Bahaha.

@Just Smile Where did you get the idea that “most of us” had trouble with it? Going through the posts, each essay had some people who found it difficult, but apart from some concerns regarding the synthesis, it seems that people mostly found the test’s essays to be anywhere from easy to fair.

did u guys get sincere for a mc answer

yes^^, are we allowed to discuss the questions?

I’ll call BS on your accusations of BS. I read every passage, answered every question and finished with 15-20 minutes left to spare. I think only two or three of the questions might have been above medium difficulty to me. I had a good deal of practice with both SAT CR (a year ago…) and significantly less with Lang MC, so that helped, along with my moderately fast reading rate. I don’t think I’m an English genius at all.

The essays were decent. My rhetorical and argument essays didn’t have conclusions, though, and I felt like I was missing something on both, but I think they’ll get at least 6 each, with my synthesis essay maybe a 7.

not specific questions but i think answers are ok
