I approaced essay 3 like a SAT essay. Shout out to my examples, Michael Jordan and Donald Trump. MC was alright, essays were decent.

i got 22 wrong on barrons mc… feel like i aced the real one.

Wait, so for the 1st essay, were you actually supposed to pick a side?

@kevrus: by “develops a position” can’t that mean which things were important, not necessarily if it’s a good or bad thing (being vague here on purpose)

I wrote 3 pages for each of the essays. I felt #3 was my weakest essay, and that may be a problem since the MC was so RIDICULOUSLY easy. I mean, it was so blatantly easy that I’m even confident that they weren’t “straw man” answers. As such, the curve will be not as lenient.

All in all, expecting a 4.

MC was ridiculously easy - 50/55 at worst

Synthesis essay was fine, 7 or 8

But around the last two essays, I got really, really bored. I feel that I made good points with the second one (although I didn’t name any rhetorical devices), but only wrote about a page and a half. And then the third was just mind-numbingly boring. I barely wrote over a page (threw in a literary example and a sports example)

It was hard to worry too much because I probably had passed the test before I ever picked up my pencil for the free-response >_>

ahahaha i got 21 wrong on the first test and I was so freaked out. I’m predicting that i missed maybe 3 on this one

I thought the test (especially the MC) was easy. Deceptively easy? Hope not.

I didn’t really take a position on space travel. I just presented the issues I found most important.

Yep, that sounds fine to me. :)

^ Thats what I wrote about haha. Sorry if I didn’t get my point across clearly.

I thought the MC was easy too. 0___o I’m hoping for a 40/55 and 3 6’s to barely put me over the top for a 5. I know that’s not going to happen, so I’m projecting a solid 4. Don’t make fun of me, lol. I had a bad teacher who said “those who are good at English will do well, those who aren’t won’t” I never learned good strategies for essays, i never learned any rhetorical strategies and I never learned how to up my MC score. yea.

■■■■, I just realized that for the first and third essay, I’m may been a little tangential. For the first one, I talked about how a program should not exist in current times due to some economic conditions instead of talking about what conditions to consider for a program. Does it automatically give me a 1 or 2? I know I wrote a technically good essay but does this destroy everything???

URGHHH Oh for the 2nd essay, I ended with “can’t see the forest for the trees”

I’m so nervous. I found the multiple choice to be hard for some reason. Even the friends I’ve talked to that get lower scores on the multiple choice practice tests said it was ridiculously easy. Nooo :(

But I wrote a really good synthesis essay because I really do think we should explore space and I researched it previously so I took a strong position. I think I got a 8-6-6 on the essays so I probably got a 3 on the test since I thought the multiple choice was so hard…

God damn. I probably wasn’t focused or something and I had to pick the real thing to be unfocused.

I swear, that was my problem Zgenator. But if you think about it, because it was an easy test, you’re instincts should get you at least 40 right I’d say.

Well, Wigwam, that’s good, because it didn’t say to take a position – just which ones were important to consider. Which was strange.

The test was insanely easy. I really, really enjoyed the last essay.

now i am insanely worried about the synthesis. i’m not sure if i misread the prompt or not - i did develop a clear position on the topic… but my thesis was worded in a way that still addressed the prompt but i developed the essay in a way that would lean towards “hey, it’s a good thing”.

if we weren’t supposed to develop a clear position at all, i fear i’m screwed. how badly could this affect me, or any of us?

Look, let’s just settle this synthesis essay for now and talk about it openly when it comes back. What I’d like to know is what everyone thought of the MC sections.

MC were too easy… way easier than i expected. but, its best to assume the worst and prepare for the worst, right?

not to say you can’t be confident though. i am confident, but the difficulty level troubled me.

How in the world do some of you people end up using 12 pages out of the writing answer booklet? I just don’t see how that’s possible in that amount of time unless you a) write ridiculously quick or b) skip lines/write massive.

I’d really like to read some of the essays of you people that write so much. All of the examples I’ve seen that score 9’s and 8’s are in the 3-4 page range at most.

i think people might just ramble or cross out way too much stuff… @_@

Can someone tell me the grading scale such as what points go with which test grades.
