AP English Language MC Strategies.

Hello, I just wanted to know what the best MC strategies are. I do pretty well on the essay questions, but horrible on the MC.

So, what works best?

Bump......

I'm freaking out now...I always do well on the essays. On the last practice test we took, got 7, 6, 7...But the multiple choice is scaring me. I typically get in the upper 30s, but I took a practice test this morning, and I thought I did well, but...I got 28/54 without doing any of the conversions...Blech...

If you answered all the MC and got a 28. That means your Section I raw score is 23.

7, 6, 7 is a very good set of essay scores.

Basically.

23 x 1.3 = 30
19 x 3 = 57
= 87

Which is mid to high in the 3 range.

You should do fine.

I get like 5 and 6's on my essays, and 25 on the MC

Which is like a 3. I hope I pass. I need to get my MC score up. Kind of lost. I feel like my teacher taught us the stuff really well, she is actually a very good teacher, but kind of left us in the dark on strategies for the MC, which is a big part of the game.

Yeah, on the practice exam, it actually worked out to being a mid-4, which I was quite happy about...I should go take another practice exam, lol. Good luck tomorrow!

Yes, Good luck to you also.

In class we took a practice MC section, but I came into class late for some reason or another (like 5 minutes or so). Everyone was well into the 1st passage, so I was a little behind. There were 3 passages (which was all we had time for in a period), and I was able to get through 2 of them completely. Of those two, I only got 1 wrong in each. My biggest issue is time. If I can manage my time better, I can pretty much expect 1 or 2 wrong on each passage. I'm sure my overall MC score will be fine, depending on the content and length of the passages. My biggest fear is that I won't manage my time very well on the essays! Does anyone else feel this way? Good luck!!
