AP English Language, which book is the best? thx

CliffsAP is the best, mainly because of its practice tests which are very close to the ones on the exam

Thanks, byubound.
how to prepare AP Enkglish Lang? It’s no like history or science, it looks like nothing we can prepare.
Cliffs has flash card, Is it useful?

I never used flashcards for AP English Language. You might find them useful for memorizing literary terms though, so go for it. To study, I would just take the Cliffs practice multiple choice and write as many essays based on prompts from past exams as you can.

CliffAP for MC. For the writing, you have to improve it on your own if you’re self-studying. Read a grammar handbook (Bedford Handbook) or style book (Prose Style: A Contemporary Guide).

thanks.

jerrry4445 , Can I use Bedford Handbook for SAT writing section too?

oh yeah. It would be helpful for grammar. I used that to study for the SAT too. Just focus on parallelism, modifiers, and the other subjects (usually around chapter 8 to 15). Moreover, it’s useful to have for college.

I own cliffs but don’t freely that it tells me how to write an essay so u took out prfrom my library is pr good does it help?

Cliffs is the one I used and pulled a 4, but PR is ok for it too. The MC is what makes Cliffs valuable for this one.

Sssimone101, I don’t understand what you are asking. Could you reiterate that?

Would pr be enough to learn how to write the essays we didn’t do anything the entire year. I’m just sortof afraid that pr will give bad advice like it did for the sat essay (which thanks to cc u didn’t trust) could I trust prs instructions?

I believe that no study guide is good at teaching at writing the essay. I believe any CCer, including myself, here would help you with writing the essay.

jerry is good. It takes practice.
