AP English Lit scores

5 on the AP! 12 on my SAT essay, but that’s just from filling up the two pages and linking every paragraph back to my argument obsessively. Your SAT essay score doesn’t really reflect what kind of writer you are, just how well you know the guidelines to getting a 12 on their particular test, lol.

haha exactly, serenen. Got an 11 doing the exact same thing (800 overall)

4… shouldve taken the class

5, and the second easiest AP test of the 11 I’ve taken. MC was like SAT style.

3.
The Teacher was nice, but we never did any actual prep for the test
Didn’t even get a review book…

I’m a little disappointed, since I got an 800 on the SAT English Lit test. But I wasn’t feeling well the day of the test, and kept zoning out after the first essay question. I rambled in the 2nd, and the 3rd just wasn’t good haha, so I’m not entirely surprised.

I seriously disliked that third essay.

To be honest, my teacher didn’t do much, all that was expected was that we read 2 books every 4 weeks and write a 6-10 page essay paper where we make our own questions discussing the style, the time era and how the author felt about it, as well as the themes the story contained.

I think the most important part of the AP Literature exam is not those prep books like Princeton Review-I bought one and NEVER used it. I think it is about the personal experiences from these books you get-because you have to write an essay based on a book you read. As well as the vocabulary you know, because some of the MC questions contained literature terms that you had to know (although it seemed a bit easier than some of the pretests we took in class).

Loved the essays though. I pretty much knew mine were pretty well written. Especially Li-Young Lee’s “A Story” poem. I actually really loved that poem. And I had a great book to back up that third essay. Hope everyone did well, and it really isn’t the end of the world if you failed one AP exam. You could have swine flu.

:)

Also, we don’t get our essays back right? Does our school get them back?
