Any last minute things I can do to prepare? Aaaahhh im ssooo worried about this test!

Don't take it....duh....you don't really need to take the exam for any reason...

I haven't studied for it at all...my AP gov teacher who happens to be the AP coordinator for the school told me that last year, most of the kids who took the AP Language test passed it, but they didn't pass any other AP tests (as a general trend).

Good luck. My english exam isn't until thursday.

You hav Lit., I presu,e. kfl1120...Oh, tomorrow's going to be scary if the passages are boring. It will probably be one of those situations when you read half the passage before realizing you have no idea what you've just read, because although you've read the words, your mind has been elsewhere...I hate when that happens.

lol im afraid im just going to blank out on one of the essays and wont be able to write anything

im sooooo scared

mcz, that's exactly what I'm scared about!! My teacher is sure I'll get a 5, but I guess it depends on the passages..... Oh well, even if I do get a 5, I won't be getting credit. Princeton, like most colleges, wants you to learn "their expository writing".... so, what can I do? I'll just take it and try for a 5 just for personal satisfaction. Good luck to the rest of you!!

my ap eng lit exam is on a thurs....we juss had a practice session at our hs on wednesday during the STAR testing for the 9th-11th graders...personally, i think the test wont be too tough as compared to my ap calc and ap physics test....i noe i need to work on my multiple choice section tho...but my teacher has told me his past pupils had come out of the test sayin that the multiple choice was cake since he always makes us take harder practice tests to prepare us....iono, maybe you should look at old tests and work on the vocabulary...my teacher says there is a certain limit to the vocabs and it usually repeats itself.........

I'm taking AP Calc and AP Physics, and trust me, though English is one of my strongest subjects, the Lit test can get just as hard as Calc or Physics! Don't underestimate it, or you'll regret it on Thursday!! ;) Good luck!

-Jon :)

I'm winging this test

im okay for the multiple choice. i think.

its the freakkking essay. friightening.

Yeah, the MC is easy (provided that the passages are halfway enjoyable) :D

The essays might be tough though. I HOPE we get shorter passages (even though I doubt that will happen)! Haha, watch, this is the first year they give us a full-length short story (more than 1 page) to analyze for the essay section ;)

OH! Next year, AP English Language is gonna suck! They're adding a "research paper" element to it. One essay will have to be sort of like a DBQ where you have to document all your sources in MLA style! That's insane! Good thing we're taking it this year (it's last [hopefully] normal year)! Good luck everyone!

According to the practice tests I've taken, my MC score should set me on the right track for a high 4. I seriously doubt I'm getting a 5 (ONLY 7.5% OF AP LANG TESTERS GET A 5!!), so I just need to make sure I divide my Part II time equally among the essays so they're all decent enough to get a 4 overall. I'm scared of getting a 3. :(

does anyone know how they figure the essay into the composite score(for eng lang)? i finally found a chart listing the composite number needed for each score, and my review book has scoring for the MC portion. i'm surprised that my book didn't have any way to grade the practice exam. any help here?

dont worry, ap english language is quite possibly the easiest ap test... kids who got below a 600 on the verbal sat in my class got 4s

Is the chart online? Care to share?

I think your Part II score is just an average of your essay scores, divided by 27. And then I think Part II is worth 55% of your score, right? Or is it 60%?

I should be getting something like a 4 on tomorrow's test, unless those practice tests I've been taking have been lying to me.

Sure, the chart is here:
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/exgrd_set.html

It's a little outdated, but I think you can get the general idea. I think Part II is 55%.

I'm taking it bright and early tomorrow, too..I'm most worried about not having enough time on the essays! Usually in class we just have 40 minutes to write one..but the idea of budgeting my own time to write three of them in two hours petrifies me hahah
