Anyone have an example of a prose prompt that is a satire? (40 minute writing) Could you please give me the title and the author of such prompt?
Thanks!

Literature? Closest thing I can think of is A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift...doubtful that you would get such a prompt in Literature and Comp though--that sounds more like an AP Language prompt

There was an AP Lang. prompt last year that was satire. It was the one on pink flamingos. Look at collegeboard, they release all prompts and scoring rubrics.

That one wasn't satirical at all. The satire was the "critique of money" (put in quotes because it wasn't actually a critique) by William Hazlitt. Forget the title. Something academic-sounding.

^^ Oh yea...youre right. My bad. That one was called "On the Want of Money."

The flamingo one was irony and sarcasm. And to think...I got a 5. Whoops.
