AP English Literature Exam

Hi. I have just completed my junior year and my English class was AP/IB World Literature. Next year, I am planning to take AP Shakespeare and Modern Drama. Would these two classes together effectively prepare me for the AP English Literature exam in May of my senior year? Also, what are the major differences between the AP English Literature exam and AP English Language exam? Thanks.

i dont know about how well your IB courses will help you for the exam because i took the AP class, but i have taken both the lit and and language exams

M/C questions
lit= more questions about content and meaning (a really small amt of vocab)
lang = structure and development (and some vocab)

M/C passages
lit= poetry and prose
lang= no poetry at all, more long prose passages

Essays 1
lit = comparing two poetry pieces
lang = (can’t remember this one)

essay 2:
lit = prose piece with comaprison/contrast of characters
lang = prose piece w/ analysis of rhetoric

essay 3
lit & lang = kind of a free write with a prompt and you using your own knowledge of books that you’ve read

btw both of those are AP classes…but thanks for the info…in your opinion, which exam was harder?

AP Shakespeare?

Lol 10char
