AP Environmental Science TEST TOMORROW!

MC was hard.

FRQ easy besides for marine law

hmm i see a pattern.

god damn marine law LOL

FRQ was good I thought. MC was alright... DIdn't finish it though.

What was the best review book?

PR, smartypants, I heard Barron's was horrible.

Barron's is awful. I read most of it, and retained none of it because it was all useful facts and charts that didn't appear on the exam.

It really is easy though; you don't really need to read a review book.

I thought the test was easy, and my AP Environmental Science class is a total joke (I'm not exaggerating, but it is figurative).

I didn't like the MC in the beginning...I think I messed up the formaldehyde/asbestos one

I thought the MC was okay, but some of the FR... for 3/4 of them I didn't get to part 4.

^ I messed up that one too.

I didn't know the marine laws either. I described one that is so general and not clear so i don't think i'll get much points on that.

MY LAST AP TEST! ITS OVER!

So is the PR book good?

I think I got a pretty solid 4, but I'm being optimistic about this test. There were several questionable MC questions, and I BSed some of the FR, but that's okay. :)

How long were your essays? Mine were only a paragraph or two... I used the Whaling Act. Some of the MCs were tricky, but I think I did ok.

My essays were typically one long paragraph, or two shorter ones.

...I made up an act. ...

Can u use the Clean Water Act>> I talked about how it prevented polluting.. Overall I studied in two nights and it was pretty easy except for like a couple of MC questions.

Which review book is the best for future reference?

Is this AP easy to self-study especially if you are also taking AP Bio?

Thanks.

Stay away from Barron's. Best one (from what I've heard) is Smartypants.

If you're taking AP Bio, I don't even think you really need to study for this exam.

I didnt really think the test was too hard at all. I thought the FRQ was pretty easy, except for the marine law (I put endangered species/Lacey acts cause they were the only ones I could remember) but for me- the MC was not too bad..wasnt positive about a few. REA has pretty good review questions (maybe slightly harder) but Princeton Review was wayyyy too easy! Good Luck Everyone! :)

The Barron's book is good if you're the type of person who will start studying months in advance (the book is about 700 pages), or use it throughout your time spent in a class. If you plan to cram, or even start studying only a few weeks in advance, the Barron's book is incredibly overwhelming. Even though I thought it helped me a lot, but I felt like there was no way I'd ever get through the whole thing (and I didn't). It's definitely not concise.

I had AP Bio last year and AP Environmental this year. Some of the topics overlap (evolution, biomes, the cycling of matter, etc.), but AP Environmental goes more in depth than bio (as in focusing on a broader range of topics rather than molecules and such), and focuses less on the specifics of everything.

Anyway, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance on the test. Essays in general are usually my strong point, so I think that will make up for any blunders I made on the multiple choice.

My essays were actual essay length, around 1 page and half to two pages and a half... except the 2nd one which was more around half a page to a page.. that was the one i had 5-10 minutes to complete.

the test was harder than i thought. the smartypants' practice test was so much easier than the actual exam. i am saddened...what scores do u think u need to pass??
