AP Euro is killing my Transcipt

Ignore everyone else’s comments more.

PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS!! I AM ONLY IN THE 10TH GRADE!! I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TIME TO RAISE MY SAT!!! GET OVER IT!!! and what do you mean Phwool?

@wesley108 - Schools like HYP, etc. use point systems to make admissions decisions. You need to hit certain metrics on quantitative portions of the application (like class rank, GPA, SAT, etc.) to even make the first cut. Then other things like ECs, awards, recs, etc. are considered and given point values which then tip the scales (or not) in favor of admissions.

Look, even if you are only in 10th grade, an atrocious freshman year like yours will impact your total GPA significantly. So you need to get pretty much straight As for the rest of your h.s. career to even have a chance of hitting the minimum bar admission at Harvard. Re: your SAT, obviously you haven’t taken your official one but again you will need to study to at least hit the minimum bar…i would target a score (given ur URM status) in the lower end of the middle 50% for Harvard. Even after doing all of these things your chances will still be minimal…sorry.

I get the feeling that you think the URM-card gives you a carte blanche to just **** around in h.s. and still get in wherever you want. Honestly, at your current trajectory any top 30 school is a reach.

^See I like your advice Thank you! realistic but not crushing. And I know the URM doesn’t allow me to do that I just love answering that question when people ask me about it. It’s a joke with me and my other URM friends (“one of the actual times it helps us”)

This seems very trollish to me.

Oh yes because a ■■■■■ would totally argue this long rolls eyes

Hahaha, this thread is hilarious. OP is so delusional. As I said, you need to be realistic here.

1) 1300 SAT!!! I mean even on a practice test…you can pretty much predict your skills right here, I mean if you only score this much, and expect to raise this by 1100 points, who are you kidding?

2) You are not going to get a NYT best seller or 1st place in isef, STS or siemens. I mean, just looking at your writing in the past few pages is enough to give an indication of who you are. Look, I spent well over 600 hours in the summer in a lab, and got semis in siemens. Want to win nationals? No way, people have spent practically years in their research.

3) I mean, everyone replying to this is basically facepalming themselves. You’re the one who wrote threads about how to “get my name out there”. You even went berserk on mathsciencedude,
" I looked on their website read about it but it didn’t really say what they do so yeah SHUT UP and go back to your Florinda college while we, the ones with a successful future, go to America’s best colleges."

Your comment here was the most hilarious and yet saddest thing I’ve ever seen.
Looking at your stats, here I wonder if YOU can even get into the college mathsciencedude goes to.

Basically YOU want people to assure you that you can “get in” these colleges, but in reality you don’t want them to say you can’t. So, what are you doing here?

facepalm

1)Get over the ****ing SAT!!! A practice means nothing I probably could have done a lot better if it meant more to me than just a practice but it didn’t so I didn’t really mind!
2)Y’all are the ones who came up with STS and simens I never planed to enter those. And you do realize that most people don’t type formally on message boards so yeah my formal writing style is way different than this one.
3)I love how people on CC go back to other people’s posts just for no apparent reason. And yeah I went off on him he deserved it and lol I don’t wonder I fully doubt u can.

To answer ur final question I am here for people’s logical advice one thing all people should stand by is “don’t criticize without suggestions” or don’t say crap and nothing else! So rethink ur self u little patheic ***** :)

LMAO!!! I guess people have to have fake people support them so they make fake accounts and post practically the same thing how original

There’s no need to be complete *******s.

But err yeah. Sorry OP. Your chances are pretty low. You need to get straight A’s on a difficult course load for the next couple of years, get a stellar list of EC’s, some amazing reason (not excuse) for your poor showing early on, and almost 1000 points higher on the SAT, plus beating the crap out of anything Collegeboard offers to throw at you.

Now, these are all perfectly possible. Don’t say you could do all them, do them.

Intel/ISEF, whatever major science competition. The high-level winners, although done by high school students, are almost always done in legit research labs, with the cooperation of a legit scientist and legit scientific supplies and equipment (way to abuse legit). Because of the very nature of the scientific community/process, a high school kid will be hard pressed to make something impressive with what he can buy at Wal-Mart.

With URM status, your chances are still lower than average, whatever average is. Don’t make me internet slap you about URM. I may be ORM (damn, all these high achieving Asians before me killin’ my college chances), but I can probably declare that I’ve suffered more hardship than many URMs. (ever knelt on rice? nuff said). Besides, there are probably a lot of thus far better qualified black students.

Btdubs: Native American is the “best” URM short of the adopted (formerly abused) daughter of a widowed lesbian war veteran.

@Phwool: I happen to enjoy robot unicorn attack. :</p>

EDIT: According to my school’s Naviance, there was a kid with 3.5/1700. So, you never know really.

So you are saying it’s just a major quintessence that you happened to join today post in this thread just to criticize while also talking like you are have been on this website for a while…hmm yeah totally since.

And okay fine when I apply I will bump this thread with my stats and decision, then we will see who “pwn” who!!!

And I don’t get people talking about him! First of all he was raise around a different dialect of english so yeah he talks differently (and we all no people who are different are funny rolls eyes) Second his sister was almost RAPED!! He was freaked out at the time of course you are going to be overactive and not make much since b/c you are in shock! Do you people expect him to be like “Yes my sister was raped. He went in through the window and I chased him out.” in a very calm voice with a lackadaisical tone?! I doubt you would be so SHUT UP!

And with one beyond good response I will stop posting in this thread so it can move down ignoring Whitechalks stupid comment…

Wesley, imagine I am a Harvard adcom. What would you tell me right now that would make me want to admit you to Harvard?

Aye y’all, stop being such bullies!
I know someone (URM) who scored a 1600, then retook it several months later and scored ~2100. He’s now attending Stanford. I think it’s possible!

I don’t want to discourage you from applying to your dream schools, but I do want you to save your money.

If you think you’re totally fit for the schools, you can improve your GPA, do incredibly well on the SAT/ACT, have an amazing hook - why not just try? If your GPA can’t be perfect, then please at least improve 110%. And again, practice on that SAT… Try to aim for a perfect 2400!

That is the optimistic side of me, haha.

The more pessimistic side:
IF you were to get into the hardest schools in the nation, imagine you among your high ranked/Valedictorian peers. How would you do? Remember, for some careers it doesn’t even matter where your degree is from. But to even get a degree, you need to pass all of your classes. You will be competing against one of the most intelligent crowd in the WORLD. Do you think you can still ace classes?

If you are having a difficult time in AP Euro, think about the actual collegian classes…
I don’t want you to be on academic probation, then getting kicked out and wasting all that money, just because you relied on optimistic words like mine (which, uh, led to false hope.)

You’re only a sophomore but it’s good that you’re thinking about it. Apply to like 2 reach schools, some targets, and like 2 safety schools. I can imagine Harvard and MIT being EXTREME reaches, but eh… If you get Questbridge and won’t cry with a rejection letter, then it can’t hurt to try: fornicate what I/everyone said, and just try. Even if you’re waitlisted, I think that’s great accomplishment.

And you know what? All those dream schools may not even be the school for you. There are so many other amazing schools out there. Don’t think life is over just yet. Just try hard in school, do well in those classes, and remember: enjoy high school. :)

How about actually reading? :P

Lol wesley, YOU are the pathetic one. Through your posts i have come to think you are a bit mentally challenged and have bipolar disorder. I dont get the way you act on this forum.
Look, i dont think if you know it but you are way below average on this forum. Seriously you think you are so good, but in reality a low class, vulgar , despicable person. You dont know it but you FAIL at life. Nobody on this forum says otherwise. They have already told you to give up.

About me? I have more national awards, better test scores and more intellegence on my pinky than you will ever accumulate in your whole life. Good day

Looking up words in a thesaurus and then using them inappropriately (such that I can’t even understand what word you’re trying to use) doesn’t make you sound any smarter.

^ I saw his wrong use of quintessence and other vocab and grammar, but did not bother to point them out, since he’ll just say some other excuse.

“talking like you are have been” <----lolololololol

People keep replying so I felt I had to respond…

At this moment I couldn’t say anything b/c I’m not all that into high school yet…

Yeah I think I could handle that…and I can’t change my history class my school

requires

all sophomores to take AP Euro. and THANKS for the post

I’m pathetic?! WOW! I shouldn’t even dignify this with a response! And yes b/c we all know school makes up your whole life especially 2 grades  if you think that you really need to get a reality check. Also you are VERY pathetic GET OVER YOURSELF! I have seen your other posts, you are one of those sad people who get enjoyment out of criticizing others and promoting yourself at the same time. I really hope you have at least 3friends b/c something tells me you don’t… :(

First of all I don’t use thesauruses Second I meant to type “coincidence” but my auto spell checker kicked in and change it… Third isn’t that the whole point of thesauruses? Just saying

WOW!!! You people are some class A nerds its ONLINE!!! I whole sub language just for texting and computer talk LIKE THIS!

It’s fake support because you are supporting yourself. Your that 101 guy! People do it ALL the time, you just do it to make you people (mainly yourself) think you have support.

IDC about these other websites!!! This is the best website out there which you made clear when you said most of them have CC acounts, it people like you who should be banned from websites like this!
