First of all my school will NOT let my take a different class. Second I really want to get into Harvard or MIT. Now to the problem:

We have daily reading, which we have daily a quiz over. I have been doing really bad on them because I can not learn so much information in one night while doing all my other homework. Right now I am failing the class and the semester is coming to an end. My grades last year (freshman year) were not to good (1 C rest were B's and A's). So i have two questions:

*Should I just give up on my dream schools?
*Any tips for me on the quizs? PS They are require very detail answers

I obviously would try asking the teacher for personal advice, or help. Also, what book do you guys use? The book we use is not too difficult to read over, once you get engaged, but quizzes can also be helpful if you have good multiple choice skills.

I took AP Euro last year (5 on the test) and we also had quizzes once a week. They weren’t easy quizzes either. I had to study around 2-3 hours in order to pass them, and even then I rarely got all of the questions on them right. Try understanding the information better or start earlier on the reading if you have other homework to complete. I am not sure if you should set your standard so high for your dream colleges, but as long you don’t give up you’ll be fine.

I did ask him all he says is to read and take detailed notes… not much help. We use “The Making of the West: Peoples and Cultures (one volume-hardcover edition)”, it’s very hard to read even the teacher says so. And not really the quzzes aren’t multiple choice its more like a one paragraph FRQ except you have 3-5 topics to write about.

Congrates! And yeah imagine having on of those eaach and every day! and your advice was well general. And so you think I should give up on trying to get into those schools?

More people should be like you! I posted this somewhere else and everyone was like just give up you have no chance. But here you are being realist and encouging at the same time not telling me to give up THANK YOU!!! :D

No problem dude…just don’t let people on the internet influence you too much, especially people on this website who overestimate themselves and underestimate others
