Hey, I have a questions. If I want to transfer from a CCC to a UC, and I use AP Credits for my prereqs will that be good or bad? Say I want to be a computer science major. That requires calculus and compsci prereqs. But, I use AP Cal BC exam and AP Compscience AB exam to get rid of calculus I and II and Programming I and II. Will that be good to skip those? Or should I not skip it and earn an A? Also, if I am getting a B, is it possible to drop the class with a W and apply the AP score?

bump! :) please reply thanks.

I don't think it should matter as long as the articulation agreement (assist.org) says that you can use the credits, I think it should be fine. You should show that you received A's in comporable courses. Did you get a 5 on the AP exams?

I have a related question: I speak German, but never took the AP German exam in high school. Can I take it now to get rid of the IGETC Foreign Lang. requirement? Also: If I do that, will units be applied to my transcript for taking the AP?

As long as your CC will certify you for IGETC then you are good to go. HOWEVER, when I asked different counselors, most said to stay away from using AP credit to fulfill pre-req's.
