How badly will using MOSTLY AP credit to fulfill my credit requirements hurt me?

I was accepted into virtually every UC for Fall 2008 as a freshman out of highschool and sent in a SIR to Berkeley. Unfortunately, there was a whole fiasco over my registration and transcripts that I don't really want to get into right now, and, long story short, my admission was canceled.

So, I decided to just go to a CC and transfer back to a UC (I'm not so set on Berkeley anymore, but it'd be nice...). Anyway, I talked with a counselor at a local CC and she said I have enough AP credits to almost completely finish my entire IGETC (I'm missing two courses) and could probably polish off the rest of the required 60 units during the spring semester. She suggested I apply this November for admission in Fall 2009.

She said that it wouldn't really hurt me too much that basically ALL of my units were AP credits, but I felt that this couldn't possibly true. So what do you guys think?

no, it won't. i know someone that has had that many AP units and applied the year he entered CC, he got into UCLA for econ.

Just make sure you do volunteer work or something else to fill any spare time, to make sure that they see you as a hard worker (which is evident due to your number of AP's).

I don't think it really hurts to use your AP credit to fulfill IGETC requirements, but you should definitely take your major prereqs for a letter grade. I would advise you pick up an IGETC sheet at your CC and see what AP scores can be applied to which GE.

Look closely at the articulation agreement:

Guidelines:
- Requirements must be met with courses -- no AP, IB or A level Exam credit;
- Courses may be taken for a grade (C- or better), P/NP, or CR/NC (if P or CR
means C- or better);

Thats from the 7-course breadth portion. I'd want clarification on what they mean by AP credit.
