AP exams without class

How many people took AP exams without taking an AP classes. I really want to take AP Biology, AP Chemistry(already started studying), AP Physics not sure which one, Calculus AB, and English Language.

English Language and Chemistry-I have two great teachers that teach IB who use to teach me and are encouraging me to take AP exams since I decided IB wasn't for me. They are also going to study with me,

So does anyone know any good books or have any study tips.

My son toolk English Language AP without taking AP English & got a 5. He considered taking other APs without class, but decided he had enough to do to review & study for the APs in calsses he took--US History, Physics B & Computers, so he ultimately decided not to take more than those 4 AP exams.
I've read of others who have teken several AP exams by just studying independently & they have done fine.

Here's a thread with more info about APs.

Bio--Cliffs
Chem--PR
Calc--Barrons

Not too sure about the other two since I haven't taken the classes as of yet. It's def. plausible to self study for these APs; just put in a good amount of effort and your set.

bis's easy, just memorize. self studied this one. got a 5

chem is a tad harder. you memorize concepts and ways to solve problems and apply those. took the class but didn't learn much in class so I studied on my own. got a 4

I ditto the bio and chem recommendation.
