I’ve done bad on AP tests in the past. I’ve take a total of 5 and only passed one with a 3 and the rest were 2’s. will this hurt my chance of receiving acceptance to Emory? My Gpa UW= 3.6 and W=4.6. ACT=29
@cc31017 Do not mail the scores or it likely will because they will interpret you as taking the APs to have a high UW GPA and not to master the content, so be careful and try to improve if you have more APs to take. Either that or train hard for an SAT2 to demonstrate subject level abilities to test.
Ok but the scores are automatically on my transcript and I can’t remove them. But I take ib courses as well and I have mostly A’s…
But thank you so much for your feedback I really appreciate it!
Why are the AP exam scores on your transcript? I didn’t know of schools that did this. I thought they had to be sent separately via the college boards’s score report. Is there a way to remove the AP exam scores from the transcript and send one only with grades? Also, you need good IB(HL) scores. Lots of A’s and poor IB and AP scores suggest that the AP status is unreliable or that the courses are not rigorous at your school. There should be a correspondence. If you plan to get an IB diploma then I would recommend that you use the essay to market your project or whatever capstone IB has. You will need to show some intellectual passion to boost your chances in light of a strong grade weak AP/IB score correspondence. Again, you do not want to be read as person that cannot handle a challenging college exam. In some cases, instructors may give midterms more difficult than an AP exam. Unless you come from a less privileged background or had issues that affected your performance that year, you should have more to show for in terms of the scores.
@bernie12 I’m a little surprised that they would be on the high school transcript as well as the school would have to go out and manually do this.
Ok thank you so much
