AP French Lit?

I think I want to take this next year, but I'm not sure...I know about 25% of all students who take the test get 5's, but i'm guessing that most of these are natives....I'm pretty strong in French, but I can definitely see poetry as a weakness.

Um, I don't exactly know what question you're asking. I took AP French Literature as a Sophomore (before I took AP French Language--Junior year). If you have a strong grasp French vocabulary and can do the comprehension sections, you should be fine. You're not getting into the nuances and the nitty-gritty stuff that's found in French Language, but you do need to know how to write essays in French.

What score did you get? About how much prep did you put in compared to your other APs?

I got a 5. My class prepared me very well, so I hardly studied. I just looked over some reading passages and wrote a lot of essays. Compared to French Language AP, I studied very little. Feel free to ask me any other questions.

Well, I'll be the only one in the class, since our french program is pretty small. There will be about 20 honors/AP lang kids in there, and then me in the corner studying lit. the teacher says she wont be able to work with me much, so ill mostly be doing the reader. still, i have a very good grasp of the language and would consider myself to be on the verge of fluency. should i go for it? also, do colleges especially like students who take FIVE years of a language? would ap stats or ap enviro look better (my other 2 elective ap choices)

If you're borderline fluent, then you should definitely take the test! Yeah, I think colleges like students who have taken five yeras of a foreign langauge. Why don't you take both AP Statistics and AP Environmental Science along with AP French Literature?

because we have a limited number of classes, plus, i dont want to go CRAZY next year (I'll already have 4 and might consider independent studying for world history)
thanks for your help, i'm positive now that i'm taking it.

Cool! Not many people take French Lit AP :) (at least not in my school)

At my school you cannot take AP French Literature unless you have taken AP French Language...and not only that, you have to pass the AP French Language exam.
