AP French

Does anyone here know the curriculum for AP French? Apparently, they revamped and retooled it by changing it to include certain themes but I want to know the exact grammar and the actual material involved since I'm interested in taking it as a course next year. Also, my teacher this year was a complete joke.

Does anyone have advice or information for me?

AP French is a lot of fun, but at the same time, a lot of work! If you can read and write well in French then you’ll be fine. You’ll need to know all tenses (subjonctif, plus que parfait, conditionnel) and have mastered them immediately. I know what it’s like to have a horrible teacher (try a different teacher every year) but luckily French is a subject you can study on your own. Try finding a tutor if you think you’ll struggle. For the material, you study a lot of culture and that makes it so interesting! In my class we’ve studied Senegal and Quebec while learning how to distinguish the accents between these two Francophone countries and France. Overall I’m so glad I took this course!

I should note though that the AP exam is difficult and quite ridiculous. For one part you must have a “conversation” with a computer simulated speaker who has pre-programmed responses. So the key will be to STUDY.
