My school has AP Gov and AP Econ as one class, each semester as its own different class. Would colleges look at this as two AP classes or one?
It doesn’t matter.
I agree, it will not matter for admissions. The only actual issue is that you will have to study a little more on your own to prepare for the two AP exams because many kids will have taken a full-year course for each subject.
AP Gov, AP Micro and AP Macro have been one semester each at my kid’s school since time immemorial. (That being at least 1987 when I took AP Gov :-))
That’s great, but they are separate at my kid’s school and most of the schools in my metro area. That is why I said “many” not “most” or “all” or something similar. Maybe we should take a poll of everyone on CC and advise accordingly?
They are semester courses at my D’s school too. It would be a very slow pace if spreaded into 2 semesters.
Not to mention it would be difficult for most seniors to take 2 year long periods of Social Studies at our school.
