Hello all. I'm new here and I apologize in advance if I'm repeating an old topic or posting in the wrong place.

I am going to be a high school senior this fall, and I'm having second thoughts as to whether I should take AP Macroeconomics. I will be taking 3 other AP classes this year (Literature, U.S. Government, and Biology) as well as 1 honors class (Precalculus).

I leafed through the AP econ Princeton Review book and it looks terrifying. Although I've managed to have straight A's throughout high school (4.4 GPA), math is my weak spot. I briefly talked with the AP econ teacher and he said that math in the class will be basic and minimal, and that the class itself is mainly conceptual econ.

Still, I wonder whether I really need this class, considering that I plan to take up nursing in college. I will be applying to some UC's as well.

So, in brief: Should I take AP Macroeconomics? Will it hurt me (college-application-wise) if I don't?

Some people get it, others dont get it at all. If youre having trouble looking through the review book, it might be in your best interest not to take it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the only math in Macroeconomics is just graphical analysis and its counterpart Microeconomics emphasize a bit more on mathematics.

take it ;D I LOVE IT. and im not very good at math… especially in macro- you shouldn’t worry. there are a couple key formulas you need to memorize, but most of it is just plug and chug [chug and plug? w/e… you get the idea!]

the test writers do a good job of making the questions fairly number friendly- they judge you more on concept than on numbers.
