AP Physics 1 or Chemistry?

Hello guys!

I’m a freshman in high school and I’m having a hard time deciding if I should take AP Physics or Chemistry for my Sophmore year. As of now, I’m taking Biology for my science elective and I’ve always dreamed of becoming an engineer OR a programmer one day. Here are the classes I’m currently taking right now.
-english 1a
-intro to comp science (plan on taking ap comp science in the future)
-spanish 1
-ccss math 1 (the newest and the most confusing subject)
Anyways! The way this works is that by the end of the school year, I ask my counselor to take Physics at a community college. After I wait for both approvals, (One in high school and the other at community college) I’ll be placed in Physics there and if I pass with a C or higher, I can either take AP Physics or Chemistry (basically I’m jumping to a higher level for an extra boost of my future).

If possible, should I take AP Physics or Chemistry?

Is it AP Chemistry? If it is I would recommend taking AP chem in sophmore year and take AP physics in junior year mainly because physics is easier and you will have all your hard classes in junior year. If the chem is not AP then just go with AP physics

I would recommend you join physics and just do honors chem on the side. I’m currently in AP Chem, and not only is it more difficult than AP Physics 1, but it also requires that you know the majority of the curriculum that’s taught in a normal high school chemistry class as soon as you start. The basics of chemistry must be mastered beforehand, and if you haven’t, this class will screw you over.
