I was wondering what all of your experiences were in AP Physics 1. Was it a hard class? What was your experience with the AP Test? The reason I am asking is because I was unable to take my preferred AP Bio due to scheduling conflict and was placed into my second option of AP Physics 1. It is my junior year and I wanted to take an AP science but I just don’t know what to expect because all I hear is how impossible it is and how everyone gets a 1 on the exam. HELP!

Part of that is because some schools have eliminated Honors Physics, and are letting students into AP classes that should not be there, as is evident by the doubling of the # of tests taken last years vs the prior year’s Physics B. The other reason, IMO, is that many teachers did not seem to realize that AP Physics1 is not simply half of AP Physics B. AP Physics 1 is more conceptual and less plug and chug math. I hope that the teachers were able to work out some of the kinks this year, but we’ll see.
Anyway, IMO, it is much much easier than AP Bio, but as always, the teacher can make of break the course.
