Hi

I am taking the late AP Physics B exam. How much harsher is the curve compared to the regular testing? Also, is the late exam harder than the regular?

Difficulty is subjective.

Curves are most likely similar - don’t expect them to deviate too far from the norm.

That is true.

So, a 5 would still be around the same grade boundaries as normal testing then?

Yeah… pretty close, assuming that the MC isn’t “horrendously difficult” or “ridiculously easy.”

Pretty close. It would only deviate by one to two points in either direction… if at all.

im feelings good about the curve. Im getting 8 wrong on MC and similarly solid scores on the FRQ, so I’m not too worried

@caa4444 damn those are amazing scores. That’s a 5 for sure

I took the late phys B last year. It was pretty much as expected; nothing surprising or ridiculous. Comparing impressions with those who took it early, it seemed roughly about the same in difficulty. Curve should, as others said, be almost identical

frq 4 was the only hard part, but it very hard

Our class did Physics C this year and had one study session after the C test to prepare for the topics on B but not on C (some of which we covered last year in Pre-AP physics). Luckily enough, we went over 2011 FRQ 3, which was nearly the same as FRQ 5 this year (or so I hope ). The Mech and E&M on the B test is a joke compared to C, and with some knowledge of the rest of the B topics I’m still confident I got a 5.
