AP Physics B or AP Chemistry?

Hey guys, so I'm going to be a junior and I'm taking 4 AP classes right now.

AP Calculus AB
APUSH
AP Eng Lit
AP Physics B

I signed up for Physics B but I'm wondering on whether I should switch for AP chemistry. I'm going to take AP Chemistry and AP Physics C next year, but UC's only look at your sophomore/junior year. Would I be looked down upon for picking an easier class for junior year? Should I keep my schedule for what it is or should I change Physics to Chemistry? I can either take AP Chemistry right now and take Physics B senior year or take Physics B and then Physics C with Chemistry senior year. (our school has a 2 year physics system)

I don’t see why AP Physics would be viewed as any less rigorous than AP Chemistry. Especially if it leads to taking an even tougher class during senior year. Keep in mind that colleges look at sophomore and junior year because they are on your transcript, but they also take deep consideration into your senior year schedule. Even though it isn’t completed at the time, it gives them an idea of your motivation in education.

My vote is for AP Physics. You should know, though, that College Board does not offer AP Physics B anymore. Starting this year, they split the Physics B curriculum into AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2. Physics 2 has the more advanced topics, while Physics 1 is more of an advanced introductory course. I’d contact your school and make sure AP Physics B is correct.

Good luck! I’m in AP Physics 2 this year. If my school offered Physics C, I would take it, but they don’t unfortunately…
