So I'm trying to decide between these two classes for junior year...I haven't taken chemistry yet so I'd be taking it over the summer. I was wondering which you guys thought was harder and if I could do well in chemistry if I started studying and take the class over the summer? I'll also most likely be taking AP calc next year and I heard physics and AP calc are a good combination?

If your AP physics class is for AP Physics C, then take AP Physics C. If your AP Physics class is for Physics B or any of its hellspawn, then take AP Chemistry. You will be bored to death if you take AP physics that isn’t AP Physics C. But maybe that’s exactly what you want, an easy class. In that case, take the opposite of my advice.

AP chem generally much more useful, save AP physics for senior year.

Now that is an opinion with no basis.

I’d take AP chem since it’ll all still be fresh and therefore easier. Anyways if it’s AP physics C you’re talking about you should wait until after you take calculus.

Okay thank you guys

****thanks

I think that ap chem is worth it more, because of the labs. It’s easier to self-study ap physics because of the math-basing, but chem labs help alot more.

AP Chem is by far the best AP. As far as how it makes you think and how to put things together. AP physics is just physics.
I took both and I miss chem :/

How is AP Physics B supposed to be considered boring? I’m learning so much in that class. They are changing the course next year though, it’s going more in depth on the first half of AP Physics B, with extra topics like Rotational Motion and Viscosity. If you feel like you have a good enough background in Physics and you are good at math you can go ahead and go for Physics C since you will most likely get college credit and cover more topics. If you have no background I would recommend learning the topics in B that are covered in C so you would have a good background in the Algebra based B version before going into the Calculus based C.

AP Physics B is not physics. AP Physics C is real physics.

AP Physics B is one of the most boring classes I have (the teacher doesn’t help)… I wish AP Chemistry fit in my schedule… if my school had AP Physics C that’d also be great
