AP Physics B Post Exam Discussion [LOL FRQ]

For those who have taken the 2009 released exam was this test harder than 2009MC according to which the current calculator works?

Was the buoyant force T + mg or just mg? Can someone please explain?

Since the net force is zero, you do T+mg

@cortana

Me too! I was PRAYING for a mirror/lens drawing and then maybe a calorimetry one. And of course instead I get electrostatics.

Based on what I gather here, I probably got a four. What kind of irks me is that if had changed my method of attack on the multiple choice, I probably could have pulled something better. I spent too much time on questions I didn’t get, and as a result, I ran out of time at question #67. I was firmly convinced that I was boned for the FRQ, but I think I managed to get more than half of the points, so I’m not too disappointed. By the by, anyone else try to make a double slit using the screen in FRQ #3? I’m pretty sure my hypothesis was complete horsecrap, but I felt so clever… Oh well.

Im confused on the buoyant force question. I thought we just used the buoyant force equation?

you couldn’t use the bouyent force equation cause you didnt have the volume of the sphere

I seriously bsed #3. Not kidding. I need a 4!

Sent from my SCH-I400 using CC App

You guys thought this was hard?! Not to sound rude but all except the last question I found exceptionally easy… I didn’t even attempt that one I just wrote first principles where I thought they applied haha

I failed on all the FRQs. Except #1. Seriously

I hope i’m allowed to say this on here, but I actually defecated in my shorts during the test. Unfortunately my mother had cooked me some Garbonzo beans the night before, and my stomach was on the fritz. It was starting to get everywhere so I used my green insert to clean myself up, since it’s the one that doesn’t get graded. When I handed the test to my counselor she gave me a weird gagging look :frowning: I really hope my test gets graded, any advice?

Please don’t make fun of me, it was a horrible experience and I only want advice that will console me :frowning: Thank you very much

I feel for you when you get your counselor letter.

“jd989898 is an absolutely fantastic student. However, he *****s himself. While I know he is a strong candidate for admission, seriously?”

^^I don’t even know how to respond to that…

Don’t worry. As long as you didn’t get any on the actual FRQ paper, you’re fine.

That was so funny that you made me login and make my first comment

I didn’t take the AP course and we didn’t learn optics/fluid mechanics/EM induction/nuclear physics in my class =/ we did thermodynamics but not very in-depth, just enough to prepare for the state testing.

I still think I got at least 55/70 on the MC and I’m hoping for a 4 >_<

The difference in quality between the C thread and this thread is staggering.

am I the only one who thought that some of the mc was confusing?

Personally, I thought this was better than I expected. But maybe that’s just because I was expecting an epic fail…

The multiple choice was between meh and easy. Probably around 20 that I was iffy on? I know I completely guessed on at least 3.

The free-response might have killed me. Number one gave me false hope. Number two I know I got half of it wrong, number three was ok, number four was actually ok, too, but five was maahhh and six was like…writing **** down that filled up space. Like no joke, I know I got a 0 on six.

But I’m glad this test is over, and I reallyyyy hope I get a five.

^^ really? did you not learn waves and all that? I found it to be one of the easier parts of the test. I agree with you on 2 and 5 though, those were pretty dam hard…i think i got almost all of 5 wrong
