Hey! I was wondering if it was possible to take AP Physics 1 and AP Physics C at the same time during my senior year. I’m also taking AP Calc AB during the same year.
Why? It’s more or less same course except one is algebra-based and one is calculus-based. Take one or the other. If you’re looking for more usefulness and college credit go with the Physics C one.
I suspect @ProfessorPlum168 may disagree with me
Yes, just take one. If you have never had any physics class before (which based on past posts, you have not), particularly if Physics C at your HS encompasses both mechanics and E&M, I would not take Physics C. It’s, IMO, the hardest AP class (and I say that as a STEM major) so you are very likely to struggle, particularly if your classmates have had physics before.
Haha if you know me I always encourage people to take the hardest classes possible if they can handle it. I do agree though if you’ve never had Physics before, the first month or two of Physics C Mechanics will be a major struggle. But ok after that. Note that E&M is even harder than Mechanics in terms of content. AP Physics C will undoubtedly be the hardest HS class you will take. I personally think though that it’s usefulness outweighs the difficulty.
