AP Physics C

Anyone want to predict the types of FR for mechanics? ;)

I'm thinking something with gravitational and of course the basic integration between d,v,a and energy. The third one always some form of rotation? Hm.

I love the oracle.

Third is always rotation. The first usually is a problem where you need to do something lablike. In addition, I do not thinkthere has been a grav question in a few years, so it might be time for that.

I just did the last gravitational problem which was 2001, very basic stuff, hopefully if they put one on, it'll be similar.

And I have no idea why you get to use your calculator...

.. You really honestly don't need it but I'd rather have it, security thing. Heh heh.

I say it's WORTHLESS unless you have an 98... in which case you can solve for variables.

I've been cramming EM today and Based on what I've seen, my impression is that

Almost always: Gauss, Inductance, Ohm's law
Common: Circuits (w/ capacitors), Potential, Electric Fields
Less common: Circuits (w/ inductors), experimental design, "electromagnetic" particle mechanics, Ampere's law, time constant
uncommon: Spherical/cylindrical capacitors, irregular charge distribution, dieletrics
never seen: Kirchoff's law (and other complex circuits)

89 also does derivatives and integrals :D .. and other nice things too. Calc based stuff.

Ughhhh... Those flew away when I finished my calc exam....

Do any of you guys have something like Study Guides (summaries) or something like that? I AM PANICKING ABOUT THE EXAM....I did a MC test and I got only 15 right :( and I usually dont do awesome in the FR.

go to the bookstore and buy one for like 20 bucks...

A real one, or one from Barron's?

my score was from a real one...

ouch.... getting half of them right (18) will get you a low 4 or a high 3. You can pull off a 3 if you do well on the free response.

i am hoping for a 3...self study....

You can get the FR from 2001 to 2004 here:
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/physics_c/samp.html?physicsc

Self-study is always the hardest, trust me. You can never be sure if what you're doing is 100% correct. But practice with the things im_blue offered, it really does help to know what different kinds of problems may show up.

and also, I was self studying Calc BC (but knowledge in AB)

And to add my two cents to those debates about which is harder, B or C?
I got a 5 on the C: Mech and a 2 on B. Probably b/c I don't know diddly about E&M, much harder to skirt on the B, where it's all the same test. Oh, how I long for the days of Kinematics. (sigh)

The graders for Physics C:Mech are soooo generous. You can put "MY PHYSICS TEACHER SUX" and they'll give you a point for that (for real).
