<p>So I'm a sophomore now and we're choosing classes for next year. Freshmen year I took physics and I loved and aced the class, so naturally I wanted to try AP Physics junior year. But my counselor told me that too many people asked for the class and that seniors get the first prioirty. I understand this, but it's still kind of annoying. The only other options are AP Environmental Science, AP Bio, and AP Chem. I definitely don't want to take APES as a junior because it's kind of a cop-out AP. Do you recommend Bio or Chem?</p>
<p>Beg on your knees for AP Physics because it is way better than all the other science classes in high school.</p>
<p>Alternatively, Bio if you’re good with memorization or Chem if you’re good with problem-solving. I’m a physics guy, but I opted for AP Chem since I self-studied Physics B sophomore year and the AP Physics B class I got put into was really boring. Plus, I’m already taking APUSH, which is also information-heavy, so I didn’t want to take Bio. If you’re also taking an AP history, you may want to take chem.</p>
<p>Depends on what you’re good at. If you prefer memorization, go for bio. If you prefer math and problem solving, go for chem. Considering you really like physics, you’re probably more of a chem person.
It also depends on what you’ve already taken. It’s good to have a bio, chem, and physics class at some point in high school. You already have physics and you’ll probably take AP senior year, so you only need to worry about bio and chem. If you’re taking bio this year, do AP Chem next year. If you’re taking chem this year, do AP Bio next year.</p>
<p>@iforgot37 - The thing is that I don’t dislike bio, I took it in middle school, and I wasn’t bad at it. And I’m taking Chem now, and I like it fine it’s just not really my thing and I hear it’s the hardest AP and I don’t want to put my everything into something I’m not 100% sure about. And I’ve already taken Chem and Physics in high school, and Bio in 8th grade. </p>
