AP Policy

I was wondering if Berkeley gives any credit for AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2. I got a 3 on AP Phys 1 and I’m not sure if I’m going to receive any credit for the exam. I’m not sure if a 3 is needed or something higher or whether or not they give credit to 3s or that test at all.

Apparently, they don’t even accept Physics 1 or 2 for credit. They only accept Physics C.

Note that for the College of Letters and Science, you need to look up each major department to see what its AP policies are. The link above only lists applicability to College of Letters and Science requirements.

That said, AP physics B, 1, or 2 does not appear to be accepted for subject credit in any College of Letters and Science major. In particular, neither molecular and cell biology nor integrative biology allows AP physics B, 1, or 2 to substitute for Physics 8A or 8B (which does use some calculus).
