AP Psych or Honors Spanish 3 as a sophomore

Hey guys! I’m going to be a sophomore next year and had a question. I’m taking:
Honors PreCalc
AP chemistry
AP physics 1
AP comp sci A
honors English 2
(One more class)
So I can either take AP world history, AP psychology, or honors Spanish 3. I was planning to take world history online because in my school AP world is super hard and on top of 3 APs it’ll be a burden. So should I take AP psychology or Honors Spanish 3? I want to apply to competitive universities so maybe Spanish 3 since I can always do psych later. What do you guys think?

You answered your own question. Most competitive universities want 3+ years of a FL, so…

would be my recommendation.

But they’ll want history, too.

There’s irony in saying APWH is hard, then loading 3 stem AP. You could have split those sci classes, especially since you’ll only be a soph next year, and managed the rest of the competitive colleges’ expectations better.

Yup taking Spanish is good. Try to take psych if you have time though, it’s a very fun class. One of my favorite APs…

Personally, I think you would be better off dropping one of AP Physics 1 or AP Chem and taking AP World History and Spanish 3.

^Yup, that’s my inclination, too. Or drop AP CS, take it later. What’s the need in loading up these 3 sciences, soph year? And, AP psych is optional, later or self study it. It’s not a core colleges expect to see.

@lookingforward I would take APUSH my junior year. I want those science now as a fundamental basis for certain areas of study i can conduct my junior and senior year and i can have a wealth of knowledge of all of physics before college without taking physics as my only class, but also have taken chem.

@Ynotgo I love science. I am not a history person. I am not going to take an AP class if i am going to work hard and try to do well for the sake of the credit. I only feel as though I can do etremely well and go into depth in the APs that I would find beneficial to me and enjoyable to learn, which makes me deicated and commited.

And then another history in senior year, when it might conflict with other stem courses? Make sure you’re looking at what the possible college targets recommend or require.
