***AP PSYCHOLOGY 2014-2015***

I just took a practice test in school and got a 5 - 105.375/150. I’ll do better on the real exam because i still have to review but I suggest looking thru PR. Just by paying attention in class I got a 71% on the mc and a 34.375 on the fro so they added to 105.375. You need a 99/105 to get a 5 usually so good luck everyone!!!

@hypebeast23 NO DO NOT DO THIS. you may risk your test invalidation especially talking about it on CC a popular college admissions website.

@hypebeast23 My bad! I misread your comment and thought you were talking about the MC section of the test. Everyone is free to talk about the FRQ’s the day after the exam when they are released on CB’s website.

@Gatortristan are you sure that the curve is generally 99+ for a 5? i thought it was lower, like 90+ for a 5

Yes i am sure for the past few years especially last year the curve was 99-105 @hypebeast23 A 90 has almost always been a 4

Im screwed lol.

lol im just glad i have the best teacher in the world for this class. She’s kind of crazy but in a way that makes you interested to pay attention. She gives us dumb things to memorize words and people and they work lol

A question: what’s the update to this test? I hear they’re including DSM V now.

Rt^

AP Psych is pretty much the easy ap exam there is. You’ll be fine as long as you go over all of the people and the terms. Also, taking a practice test helps.

For the AP test, are there a lot of questions on people? And will they be the obvious ones such as Maslow for humanistic?

The people are usually the founders (Wundt, Freud) and notable people for psychology (Jung, Skinner). Sometimes they also throw in famous experimentors some other people (Bandura, Milgram). They also test for the inventor of theories and the theories itself (Cannon-Bard).

^There are actually very few questions dealing with people. And if there is one, it’ll be on lesser-known people like, “John B. Watson is best known as the founder of _______”.

Famous people we should know about
-freud psychoanalyst (dreams, slips of the tongue, free association: deterministic approach, meaning that he felt everything in life was determined from childhood experiences)
-pavlov classical conditioning experiment with meat, bells, and salivation
-solmon asch conformity (lines), people want to fit in so they base their answers off other people’s answers
-bandura bobo doll and violence
-jameslange
-canonbard
-schacter

What other experiments and famous people come to mind?

What does a good essay look like? 5 paragraph with intro/conclusion or a paragraph that addresses each of the points (six points are six paragraphs)?

Hey guys, I’m taking the test too.

I just took a practice exam and got 69 on the multiple choice. I am really hoping for an 80 or higher on the real thing. I want a 5 so badly. What do you guys predict the essays are going to be about?

@APmaster007 You don’t need a 80+ on the mc for a 5. I took a mock test with my class and got a 71 on the mc and 4/8 and 7/8 on the frq’s and a 5.
@tau628 Don’t write a 6 paragraph essay given the time your allotted and will bore the reader. All you need to do for a standard frq is define the term and apply it in one or two sentences to the scenario. Put a bullet point for each new term that the question asks and try to maintain an order.

@Gatortristan

I don’t think I can get a 7/8 on the frq. I probably will get a 4/8 on both frqs.
