AP Scholar awards

I’m just wondering how many AP tests a student would need to get AP state scholar (on average due to fluctuations in states).

I took a total of 21 AP tests and got mostly 5’s with a few 4’s and one 3. (nothing lower than a 3 though).

What are my odds?

It depends which state you are from.

Check out http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/1199474-state-ap-scholar-2011-a.html

@bigdream18 I don’t think they put it on your score report, but it’s pretty easy to see which one you qualify for (except for State AP Scholar, since that depends on everyone else’s performance).

I never really cared much for AP Scholar Awards, since I had other things on my college application that were more impressive. Even with two 2’s I somehow qualify for AP Scholar with Distinction…

Has anybody received their Ap Scholar award in the mail? I qualify for one of the awards but haven’t received it yet.

Haven’t received mine yet…

Last year the letter was dated Aug. 12, so probably some time this week. After you receive it, the award will appear on the score reports…but not before they mail the certificates.

My brother has not received his yet. Anyone else did?

S has not received his either.

Check your mailbox. DS3’s certificates just arrived today.

I got my APID and Scholar with Distinction certificates last week; they were dated August 11. You all should get yours soon. :)

… Two certificates this year. CB never sent me a “regular” AP scholar last year…

Still nothing.

DS '13 should be AP Scholar with Honors this year. When you say it’s on the score report - does that mean it shows up when you log into CB and see the SAT scores? Trying to figure out where he can find that info since he has not received a certificate or letter either.

State AP scholar! I wasn’t expecting this at all so it was a nice surprise.

Betisfan – Which state? And what’s your test count, if I may ask?

For others still waiting: my certificates came today (San Diego, CA).

Ended up with National and w/ Distinction (as expected); never had a chance at State being from CA. Best of luck to anyone else in contention for state awards that is still waiting.

I got State Scholar for CA!!!

Congratulations garfieldkiller!
To aim for state ap scholar or not to aim… Just have to self-study Physics C or something… But no time to do so.

garfieldliker*
Keep getting that mixed up. Congratulations again :P

@Garfieldliker – Wow, that’s extremely impressive. What was your test count and your avg. score? And where are you headed next/this year?

Edit: @Betisfan – Sorry, I didn’t notice that your location was displayed until now. Congrats again.

I took 21 tests, straight 5’s.
