Ap scholar awards

Are you able to cancel scores from previous years? my scores look like this

freshman:
human geography:1 (LOLOL) didn't take the class seriously AT ALL.

junior (current year)

us history:4
us gov: 3
comp gov:3
environ:3
psych:3

all the above were self-studied, but I didn't take them very seriously either(studied from like 11pm-3am for all the above the night before, nothing prior)

Is there anyway to cancel human geography + 1 from junior year? if i do that my average is high enough for AP scholar with honor which my mom wants from some reason.

I don’t think you can cancel a score, now.

You definitely cannot cancel your score one year later. And, with a 1, it will be difficult to achieve the AP Scholar designation.

Being an AP Scholar gets you almost nothing. I was one after my junior year and all I got was a medal for graduation. Don’t worry about it, you can’t cancel it.

The scholar designations are a College Board award. If everyone picked what tests they wanted figured in, it would negate the award. The awards are based on all tests taken.

i’m pretty sure that i read on the website that you could cancel a score. however, i’m not sure if this is applicable to past years

If you want to cancel a score, you must do so before you get the score. This is risky, since you could potentially cancel a high score. That being said, it’s best to never cancel a score, since you can withhold them from colleges (costs money though). Although it may hold you back from an AP scholar award, like the others said, it’s completely useless. You get a paper in the mail saying you got it.

the awards are based on all test taken? so if i would say, to retake my exams and say i got like all 5s hypothetically speaking would it be 1+3+3+3+3+4 + 5+5+5+5+5+5 divided by 12?

@danny356 Yah it is based on all exams taken in every year. And ya you can retake exams in the next year, but not many people do that since you have to review once again and if you took a class, then you will not have the same amount of knowledge the next year. And the averages are just add all your scores then divide by how many tests taken.

You can still get an AP Scholar award next year. It won’t be useful for your college application, but you’ll have the benefit of a nice fuzzy feeling inside :)
