AP Scholars with Distinction

According to College Board, an AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Does this mean 5+ exams by the end of junior year or senior year? Thanks!

The award is whenever this is achieved. So if you do it as a junior, you get it when you get your scores in july during the summer after your junior year. If you do it as a senior, you get it the summer of your senior year. Basically once you accomplish the task, you get it. The only problem with doing it your senior year is that you do not get to put the award on your college applicant and such.
