AP Science senior year vs 4 years of language

I’m about to go into my junior year. Currently I’m enrolled in 3 AP’s, one of which includes AP Physics which I’ve been told is one of the most challenging AP’s at my school. Although I know that I am capable I am certainly not math/science inclined and do not enjoy either subject very much.

Would it be detrimental to me to:

  1. Switch from AP Physics to AP Environmental Science (an easier science)?
  2. Skip out on a science senior year in order to take 4 years of a language and go into AP Italian? (I could technically take both but I am intending on having a shorter school day by one class period my senior year)

In college I’d be interested in majoring in business field or law.

Thank you

What colleges are you targeting? Do any of those colleges suggest 4 years of a foreign language?

It definitely depends on the college, what scholarships you are going for, and what the requirements are for admission/scholarships.

Like others have said, it depends on what colleges you are interested in applying to. Since you’re interested in going into business or law, I don’t think that either AP science really matters that much (but that’s just my opinion). However, if you’re looking into going to an Ivy (or other competitive college), then I would definitely suggest taking AP Physics. Taking a more difficult AP class could end up being rewarding in the long run! For your second question, again, it depends on the colleges you’re interested in. I suggest looking at the colleges’ websites for what each college requires. Some may require 4 years of foreign language, while others require 4 years of science. It also depends on your high school graduation requirements. My high school requires 4 years of science in order to graduate. So, I’d look at what the colleges you’re looking at require.

Will you be taking AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, or AP Physics C?
AP Physics C is one of the hardest APs there is. AP Physics 1 is “fine”.
What science classes have you had so far?
AP Italian = great idea, but why not take AP Italian and APES senior year - you yourself recognize that APES is easier than the other AP science classes but it still shows rigor.
