The curve doesn't really ever change by more than like 4 points out of 120.

So the curve is most likely the same as every other year, or just about. Maybe a little harsh (MC was easy says everyone but me, DBQ was cake and come one, Indian ocean trade was as easy as it gets).

I STILL haven't been able to get my AP scores.... so anxious. I have my AP number memorized better than my phone number, and I have heard that stupid recording say "We cannot locate your records..." 900 freaking times.

I can't wait to call in customer service tomorrow and figure out what's going on...

Soo I wouldn't have called in but I needed to know my Govt/Italian scores for placement. I'm ecstatic!!!!!

2008:
Italian: 5 (how did I do this??? I thought I failed.)
American Gov't: 5
Eng Lit: 5 (??? I drew pictures for my final essay.)
Environmental: 5

I think this just proves how little you need to know for the AP tests to succeed b/c I couldn't have known more than 60% of the information for Italian...Senior year really doesn't matter except for those two weeks before AP exams. I used to think that AP tests were a waste of time because they encourage more of a "teach for the test" mentality, but now that I'm looking at anywhere from 20 to 25 college credits, I don't mind at all.

For comparison, I guess?
2007:
Stat: 5
Eng Comp: 5
APUSH: 5

Everything went as expected except physics--I thought I failed that! In fact, last week I registered for the class that the test gets me credit for, since I anticipated a 2 or 3; I guess now I can drop that. Now I really wish I would've stayed in the class for E&M. I dropped out after Mechanics because I felt like a failure, but now I know how HUMONGOUS the curves on the Physics C tests are.

What really ****es me off, though, is that Spanish is preventing me from being a National AP Scholar, since I didn't receive a 4 or above on everything, right? Then I find out last week that as an Aerospace Engineering major at UT-Austin, Spanish doesn't contribute AT ALL to my degree! In fact, since the degree plan only makes use of two electives, most of these scores will go out the window. Oh well!

ccutlip, you are still eligible for being a National AP Scholar. Your average grade is 4.8, and you scored a 5 on nine of your ten exams taken. In a recent thread I created, it has been affirmed (unofficially, but nevertheless) that if you obtained at least a 4 on at least eight of all of the exams you have taken, you are still eligible for being a National AP Scholar. Congratulations!

Comp. Sci. AB - 4 (not doing two of the FRs might have affected that...)
English Language - 5
Calc - 5
World - 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am RIDICULOUSLY happy about World. I don't really care about CS AB, 'cause I got a 5 on CS A. shrug

powerbomb: I think that the curve was pretty generous; even though I've heard that you don't have to do TOO well to get a 5 (I've since forgotten the formula -- something like 50/70 on MC and 6+ on the essays?), I was pretty sure I hadn't even done that well. Yesterday I discussed it w/ my friend and gave myself a 40% chance of a 3, 50% of a 4, and 10% of a 5. xD

English Language - 5!!!!!!!!!!!!
US Government - 3

I'm a little disappointed about my US Government score, as I won't be able to obtain credit if I am able to attend my matches or reaches, but HOLY FREAKING CRAP HOW DID I GET A 5?!?!?!

I called because I needed the score for registration. Anyway, the phone was driving me nuts because it couldn't find my record with the AP number. I then tried my SS#, and it finally worked. Then it wouldn't take my credit card number, so I had to enter that again, and finally it went through.

Your Environmental Science score for the May 2008 test is.......

5.....

to hear this score again hung up and screamed

Yeah, I was very excited. My AP Env. class is known as one of the hardest at my school. I know, usually it's the easiest, but my school is the other way around. I kept a B- in that class year round, and barely got out with one in the 4th quarter. Then I got this!

2008
lit - 4 (considering I didn' tknow the first poem was a sonnet, I think I did well. (alt test))
phys C (mech) - 4 (surprisngly good)
phys C (E & M) - 2 haha i expected this, senioritis kicked in here.

2007
us gov - 4 (ticked)
comp gov - 5
calc bc - 5 / ab sub - 5
chem - 5
lang - 5

See AP: Scholar Awards for official standards. National AP scholar has two conditions:

1) 4 or higher on at least 8 exams
2) 4.0 average or higher on all exams taken

In effect, a few 3's can be had as long as there are 5's to balance them out.
