AP scores at your high school

My school has 6 AP classes (not many) but it's rare if half the class doesn't get a 5.

my school would prob have more passes if more than 2% of the class actually took an AP class

AP Lang is really popular in my school, like 200/490 students take it every year...

this year only about 40 (including me:D) got a 5... there were a lot of 3's, which is unusual because in my school anything below a 5 is looked down upon :D

no APs are very popular. Only 2 AP scholars w/distinction in 10 years roflmao

of the 50 people who the Calc AB exam:

46: 5's
3: 4's
1: 2 (hate to be this kid)

Guidance offices get these AP reports. Some choose to share with the school community! My guess would be that unless there are a goodly number of test-takers, though, the guidance folks would be reluctant to release that info due to potentially identifiable info (i.e., three people took AP USH -- one got a 5, the others got 2s. Not hard to tell who got what if one knows the people involved.).

Rootbeercaesar: 200/2000 is 10% of the population...

^^

What does that have to do with anything???

*llpitch, what school are you going to?

My school in Hawaii is a public school, and we get nearly 100% 5s in AP Physics B, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, and AP Calc BC. The previous APUSH teacher would receive nearly 100% 5s as well. For example, this year, only two people didn't receive a 5 in the AP Physics B (a 4 and a 3). The previous year, only one person didn't get a 5 in AP Calc AB (a 4).

I'm guessing the prviate schools are far more impressive, with Iolani probably boasting nearly 100% 5s.*

I go to Radford unfortunately...I'm assuming you go to Mililani. I wanted to go there so bad...

And LOL @ Iolani getting 100% 5's. You're badly informed =[ Not even the top private magnet etc schools anywhere get 100% 5's.

Punahou > Iolani btw

Rootbeercaesar, you said:
"holy crap that many AP takers?!?!? at our school its only like 200 ppl total out of 2000"
and
"my school would prob have more passes if more than 2% of the class actually took an AP class"

Want to clarify?

At my high school:

311 students (out of 2500+) wrote a total of 571 AP
examinations. Of these, 90% of the grades were 3 or better.

No, I don't go to a competitive high school lol

llpitch, Radford is not a good public school. I was speaking of Roosevelt, and not Mililani, btw. We're ok in math and science. We have a JR taking Calculus 4 (he just finished vector calculus and double integration), and AP Physics C. In the last two years, we've had Sophomores taking AP Physics B.

I believe Iolani has superior numbers. Punahou is the bigger school, but by just observing Iolani's perfection in Math Team, AIME, Physics Olympiad, Math Bowl, etc...they seem stronger. If my public school nearly perfects Physics, I'd expect Iolani to be stronger than that.

hm I dont remember posting the first one, but I must have mistyped the number.

At our school the 'Exact' number is 20 people out of 450 students for my class.

In our school you have to be a sophomore to take (and only World History). However, I would say a good portion, non overwhelming majority, take tests and score 4-5. I'm in Long Island.

At my school everyone is expected to take a bunch of APs and to get at least a 4 in them. It's mostly the teachers who push the students, the administration could care less.

*

Yeah I realize its a horrible school which is why I'm taking 4 APs and self studying 5 more.

llpitch, I attended Radford many moons ago.
I would not call it a school.
However, the few graduates of Radford who have taken control of their education have ALL done well ~ as you no doubt will.

well...
I know our psych AP had a 100% pass rate 2 years and a 97% pass rate the other year...

and our WHAP class of last year had the highest passing percentage in school history :D 77%

not sure of the stats of all the others though. There are a total of 7 AP classes offered with 2 of them just starting this year.

Yeah, my AP World teacher told me how in the last 3 years, she has had 2 kids go to Harvard and 1 to Princeton.

for calculus ab, i think only 2 or 3 didnt pass out of around 200
on the other hand, from the us govt class, i think it was around 18 who passed out of 70
