I just found out....

That Im the first in my high-school to ever request AP tests
our school doesnt offer them, but I would still expect a few to try to go higher than whats offered. ahhh I guess its the symptoms of a vocational/tech high-school
anyone else going to a school with these types of symptoms?

lol. I used to. My school was the "dumb" school of the area, and Nevada is like the second dumbest state in the US. Here:

The graduating class of last year was about 220 kids. Here are the stats i got from my councelor over the summer:
only 30% went to college AT ALL.
out of the ones who went to college 68% went to University of Nevada Reno (third tier US News Weekly College Rankings)
and 25% went to University of Nevada Las Vegas (fourth tier US News Weekly College Rankings)
7% went out of state

All I am saying is good luck! I hope the teachers dont give you a hard time!

in my school only about 3-4/250 in the senior class actually take an ap exam. so yeah my teachers actually tell us that the exams are pointless since many of the classes get college credit anyway.

congrats and good luck! gobble-gobble-gobble.

Did you hear that?!?!? Let me get my shotgun and bag that turkey.

More than 50% of my class takes APUS alone. We have at least 75 AP Scholars each year.

^^^^Oh...another amazing Jersey high school???!!! No...I never would have thought...

jk.,....

Jersey kicks your ass on a regular basis.

***pwnd.

what do you have to do to be an AP Scholar and the distinction thing?

I think they changed the criteria this year.

AP Scholar - 3 on 3 exams
AP Scholar with Honor - 3 on 4 exams, 3.25 average
AP Scholar with Distinction - 3 on 5 exams, 3.5 average
National AP Scholar - 4 on 8 exams, 4 average

do yall know where a chart that shows the ap exams with the passing rate/avg score? (besides the CB one, cause i have to individually check each one at a time...) thanks!!

that is really stupid how the award is determined by how many exams you pass. i just think that if you get a 4 or a 5 on three exams you should get somehting better than the guy who got a 3 on three exams

seifo: agreed.

Bah, to come from NJ deflates everything. Too many smart people here, which means being an AP scholar means close to nothing. In my HS, we had around 8 Nat AP Scholars, ~65 AP Scholars with distinction, ~60 AP Scholars with honor, ~35 AP scholars.

So...yeah. Of course, that's both the current senior class (that took APs last year for the first time) plust the senior class that left us. I'm AP Scholar w/ Distinction and there should be around 7 or 8 more like me in my grade.

But yes, being from NJ, NY, CT, CA, MA makes things worth so much less.
