AP scores v. SAT II scores

before anyone tells me there is a difference - yes, i know that. obviously. what i'm wondering is, does anyone else see an odd relationship between the two? i got 5s on US History and Spanish Language, and yet i got a 680 on the former and a 700 on the latter. does that correlation make sense? has anyone else noticed a slightly lower trend on their SAT II scores?

most people find that it's easier to do well on APs (you can make many errors and still get a 5)
although the SATII is a shorter test, you can only make a couple mistakes to get the coveted 800 and many mistakes can severely lower your score...most people find the SATII to be harder
the AP and SATII also test different areas of the subject (for example, SATII bio tests ecology related material while AP does not)

SATIIs scores are more important when applying to colleges
most people do get higher scores on the AP but some get higher scores on the SATII
