Two years ago, as a sophomore, I took the AP US History test and got a 5. At the time, nobody told me about SATIIs, so I didn't take the US History after my AP class like lots of people do. I got a 750 on the Spanish SATII and 780 Lit, but I'm thinking the US History test is going to be a disaster 2 years after the class.

Will colleges really care if my SATIIs look like 750/780/500, since I got a 5 on the AP US History test? Or should I start cramming like crazy?

If I were you, I wouldn't take the US History Sat II since you'd most likely have to spend a lot of time reviewing material you learned two years ago. Most colleges only require 2 Sat II's; Harvard, Princeton and Georgetown I believe are the only schools that require 3. So, if you need a third Sat II, choose a subject you are currently studying.

Don't mess with your score of 5 on the AP--even though APs are typically only used for class placement & course credit. Why jeopardize advanced standing & course credit by a sub-par performance in the same course on the SAT II?

Well, I'm a double legacy at Princeton, so I really want to apply there. My 620 Math on the SAT I means I can't take any of the math subject tests, and I don't know any other languages or science, so...yeah, I'm stuck with US History.
