Ap scores?

i have something i’m not exactly understanding…
alright so for example i scored a 3 in statistics AP in high school. so that means i passed it and i get 4 credits accoording to this website:
Undergraduate Admissions

so i earned 4 credits cause i passed the AP…then why does it say i have to take stats 13 to get full credit? isnt 4 credit the full credit already? i mean cause if you score a 4 or a 5, you only get 4 credit too.

i don’t wanna waste my time taking stats 13 again when i passed the AP but it’s a pre req for me

also i scored a 3 in calculus BC and i want to go into math 21b, is that wise?

If you look at that link again, there are actually two rows for AP Statistics. If you got a 4 or a 5, the top row applies to you, if you got a 3, the second row applies to you.

If you get a 4 or 5 on the exam, that is equivalent to taking Statistics 13 and getting credit for it. If you get a 3, that is not equivalent to taking Sta 13, it's just equivalent to getting 4 credits. So basically from the point of view of UCD, passing the AP Stats exam with a 3 is good enough to get you some credits, but not good enough to count as actually having taken Stats 13.

...at least that is how I understand it... I could be way off.

I do believe bandislife got it exactly right.

alright cool thanks bandislife.

i got 4 on BC and 5 on the ab subscore, and the people i talk to say stick with calc 16 or 17, and leave 21 to the engineering majors...its unnecessary hard work.
