AP Spanish Language

Esta situaci

To clarify: I am not a native speaker. My teacher was. I am Caucasian to be general, Italian/German/Swedish to be specific :)

really unprepared for this test… im expecting a 1 hoping for a 3 :D

@kwwboarder:  Then why’d you say that you were?

At any rate, at least I know there’s some hope, though you did believe you spoke Spanish well enough to be a native speaker.
And I do know a good deal of Caucasians who speak Spanish at or above the same level of native proficiency, so I’m not quite too sure what you meant by your statement of your race…

“The only thing I had going for me was that I had a native spanish speaker AS A TEACHER and we did a lot of speaking and essays in the class.”

You misread what I wrote :)

Ahh big difference haha

That’s comforting. Thanks for the advice

I know it seems really daunting when you’re going into it, but, really, the test is not too terribly difficult. I took it two years ago and passed with a 4, even though I barely studied at all (just did some short practice the teacher sent me the week before the test.) If you got do fine in your AP class, you should do fine on the test. In my opinion.
I think, the most important thing is to not get hung up during the multiple choice. Just like any other AP test, you gotta pace yourself and not spend too much time on any one problem. A lot of people I know did this, and it hurt them in the end. Just keep your pace.
And remember, AP is always on a curve
Buena suerte!

^Thank you sir. Nice to get some reassurance :)

Por cu

Here is the cutoff range for the scores that I got from my AP teacher:

5–>134-180
4–>114-133
3–>86-113
2–>63-85
1–>0-62

We took two AP exams and I’ve been scoring about the same on both. I’m expecting between a 4 and a 5 right now.

Por desgracia, los rangos no son tan f

how are you guys studying for this test??

What is there to study really? We’re on our 4th or 5th year in Spanish. You either know it or you don’t.

I suggest reading a few articles on BBC Mundo and maybe watching some videos. You may also want to do that in the morning before you head out the door so you can get yourself in that “Spanish mode”. I find that it helps me do better on listening.

^Agreed. But then again, it is mifune, so perhaps your comment is a tad redundant. ^_^

Mi profesora ha me dicho que soy su única esperanza por un “white 5” XD

I don’t want to let her down! I think, except for the listening MC which is just obnoxious, I will do well :]

lol @nicksyn I was the only “white 5” and one of only three non native speakers who passed. If your teacher is saying that you definitely have a good chance at a 5.

@Jgraider: Soy una chica, no soy un muchacho. Pero no importa, otras personas ya tambien pensaron que soy un muchacho. Quiz

134/180 es 5?

Vale, entonces creo que lo recibir
