AP Spanish Language

I shall be taking the Biology examination as well, but am prepared to accept my “1” with equanimity.

But thank you for your sincere wishes. :)

about the mc…the listening without the questions was HORRENDOUS for me. the listening with the questions was better, but i still struggled.
for reading comprehension the first passage was ridiculous and soooo confusing. i prob did horrible on those questions. a couple other challenging passages but also a couple passages that were easy enough.
about the frq…writing was a breeze. speaking not as much, but it wasn’t too bad.

Was there a part in the instructions about writing your ap number inside your FRQ answer booklet? I thought I heard something like that but I didn’t do it.

totally messed up on the speaking, especially the one where you talk for two min straight. now that one was horrendous. i’m good at ********ting (essay writing) at mc, so i hope i can pull off a 4 overall. gotta keep my fingers crossed. anyone know when we find out the scores?

mid july as usual

I felt that the exam was pretty average. I’m hoping for a four, but will be content with a 3.

I’m hoping for a four, praying for a five, and I wont be content with a three. which probably is what a deserve :/

the mu

how long were u guys’ informal writing about the vacation with ur friend’s family? mine was only the little space on the first page…I was totally unaware that there was the back and another whole page for it!!! =[ so mine was barely 60 words? =[

The minimum is 60 words, so you should be okay as long as you wrote well (personally I wrote 95 words).

The hardest for me was the reading (not the articles, but the two stories). The reading was difficult enough that there will probably a decent curve. I did very well on the speaking/writing (the last half) and did pretty well on the listening. Hopefully thats enough for a 5.

Also, I’m pretty sure the speaking presentation is only 10% of the exam, so don’t freak out if you didn’t do well. I thought the two minutes was very short and I didn’t speak very much about the second person, so I’ll probably get some points taken off for that… but I filled up the 2 minutes pretty easily.

i talked for a minute and then i repeated what i said…i panicked! =[ so embarrasing!!!

so did anyone else write a super short informal email to their friends for the vacation thing?

Note: I’m sort of a native speaker (I went to a saturday school for 8 years learning Spanish, but don’t hear it at home or anywhere else anymore).

I thought the long essay was ridiculously easy - the topic was easy to split up into “cultural, economic, educational”, and use big words haha.

I think the reading was relatively easy except for one or two of the fiction pieces…

Speaking was pretty easy - for the presentational, I wrote a 2 minute speech word-for-word during the 5 minute reading time + 2 minute preparation, so I didn’t stumble or do anything and it seemed to work.

For the informal speaking, the topic was pretty easy and I wrote out my first two responses without knowing the question - it was sort of intuitive, and I happened to be right.

For the informal writing, I don’t think I had any errors and I had compound, preterite, and subjunctive tenses along with like future and present so I think it went fine…

I heard 134/180 or around there is a 5, is this true?

EDIT: What are we allowed to mention on the MC? The above posts mention the fiction pieces, are we allowed to?

SpaceDude, you’ll get the scores the 3rd week in July, but starting this summer there’s an online service for your teacher, so he/she will get them the 1st week of July, or so I remember.

for the informal essay, you’re supposed to have three paragraphs. first is like a “hola. ¿Cómo estás? ¿y tu familia? ha sido mucho tiempo sin hablarnos tú y yo…” the second paragraph is all subjunctive, like “quiero que nosotros nademos y ojalá que nos divertamos…” the last paragraph is a goodbye, like “muchísimas gracias por la invitación. llámame para que podamos discutir nuestros planes. hasta pronto.” if you did that, youll get full or almost full points.

Not necessarily… it can be one paragraph as long as it has the words and does the things that it says in the instructions (my AP teacher has been doing it for 20+ years)

santeria, i guess i just overachieved for no reason then. cant hurt me tho.

Interesting ahaha ok so I really want to know what I made…I think it’s between a 3 and a 4
but I REALLY need a 4 hahaha I won’t get credit with a 3 sadly lol
I’d be pretty happy if I got a 3 just for passing it but I really think I could have made a 4
I only omitted 4 on the MC…and I think I answered most of them right
I really hope anyway

My impersonal essay was just that first page too unfortunately lol but it was like 80 words I think…and I addressed everything in the requirements and had maybe a couple grammatical errors…but nothing huge

My long essay was pretty decent…about 1 3/4 pages and cited everything and talked about them…made some decent points…I did have a little trouble pulling a couple of my ideas together to emphasize my main point but I don’t think it took away from the essay as a whole too badly lol

Conversation…this was the only thing I feel probably screwed me up…I did really well on like the first 2 responses…then I started freezing up and couldn’t think of how to respond haha
I said something in all of them but a couple were pretty vague lmao

Presentation…pretty good overall!! I spoke for like a minute 45 but it was all filled with information and I talked about both of them in decent length and compared and contrasted them as well as I could with the vocabulary that I know hahaha

Do you think the screwups on the conversation and 15 seconds of silence at the end of my formal presentation will screw me over on getting a 4? hahaha
I really hope not lmao

and goodness hahaha you’d probably make fun of me if you heard what I did to prepare LOL
I watched only spanish tv the weekend before…I wouldn’t let myself change it to what I really wanted to watch hahaha
and listened to spanish songs that I really liked lol (shakira and enrique)
and then the day of the exam…I got up early and went running and I ran to a spanish playlist to get my body/brain up and going and to get in the spanish mode
I felt really prepared for the test lol
and I feel pretty confident about it other than the few mistakes I mentioned above LOL

Hahaha, that’s what I did too, except I listened to Juanes and Ricardo Arjona. :D

LOL, I listen to Spanish music anyways, so that wouldn’t have helped me any really.

haha nice!!!
ok good
lol
That’s really funny though! : P
and yeah…I have one Juanes song! haha
but I do sometimes lol like 10% of the time :D
