Also, the average abilities of the people who take the AP Stats tests is pretty low compared to other AP classes, like Calculus BC which is a harder test, but something like 40% of the people get 5's.

would TI 83 suffice?

I personally found it to be the easiest math/science AP class I've taken. The Free Response was a bit tricky, but I didn't get a single multiple choice question wrong, generally a reciple for success.

i thought the class was sort of difficult (this can include many factors though, bad teacher, terrible book, terrible senioritis haha) i am a math oriented person and took ap stat b/c my school had no other math classes i could take, so i thought it was challenging and boring (i think i didnt get it b/c i didnt have an interest in it, like i do with calc)
if u're just looking for a filler class, as in uve got nothing else to take, its a good option, boring but good. i definitely appreciate the way we learned how ppl come up with statistics, and i also did ap psych, and the stuff i learned in ap stat helped me with ap psych, so im happy i took the class.
on the other side of this, although i say i think its challenging, i went into the ap exam with lack of sleep (my friend didnt wanna go home so she spent the night at my house and we were too distracted to study), no studying at all for the exam even nights before then (studying is expecting too much of a senior), a completely nonchalant attitude abt the exam, and i thought the exam was confusing, and i got a 4 (maybe the curve was good?). not as impressive as the ppl here of course, but it gets me credit.
my advice to anyone taking the class, MEMORIZE EVERYTHING, all the assumptions and stuff have them down pact, i think thats what makes it difficult, all the random things u have to remember

I liked the class, after I got over thinking of it as math...some of the concepts are really interesting and can be applied to the real world. Our teacher actually did a great job teaching it (unlike most of our school's APs), and I got a 5 without too much studying.
A TI-83+ worked fine...I recommend downloading the catalog help program, though.
The free-response questions were fine if you knew which test to use, but sometimes they were confusing, so it would be easy to miss the whole problem (by doing the wrong test)
Multiple-choice was simple, though -- almost everyone in our room had an extra 45-60 minutes left over after finishing the mc

I didn't take the class, only studying from Barrons in 15 days (there are 15 chapters in that book, you do the math). I got a 5 and I thought the exam wasn't too hard at all. But yeah, you have to kinda know your stuff well. It's a bit confusing at times, that's true too...

this class is the epitome of gross! homework everynight, classwork every night! UGH its so bad…! my teacher is nice, but i don’t feel like i learn from her, its like a self learn class.

as for the stuff itself, it depends on your common sense tbh.
you need to read in this class… and i suggest you buy an Ap book to practice because books usually have 1 or 2 problems that go through a certain material, this subject is very extensive and broad and you can bs most answers. math is like 123 easy but the analyzing part and explaining why things happen is the harder part. and there is always exceptions in answers, esepcially if you buy a barrons book,

wut i learned is, the simpler the answer, it is wrong!

your teacher is wrong. AP human geo has the lowest percent of 1s and lowest avg

Q: AP stat is hard?

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Probably the most boring class I’ve ever taken in my entire time being a student. Seriously, biggest waste of time. If you have another AP option, please save yourself the grief and DO NOT take AP Stats.

You’re lucky you have CC to warn you beforehand, unfortunately, i did not.

On a side note, I’ll probably get a 5; Barron’s cramming last 2 weeks FTW (you can definitely get a 5 with just Barron’s and not even taking the class).

nice 2008 bump :
