AP Stat or AP Calc

I need to decide on a Math Class for my Senior year. I can choose between AP Stat, or AP Calc AB. My counselor keeps telling me to pick Stat, considering I want to become an econ major, but I'm not sure. Would colleges look down on not taking AP Calc?

Thanks

no. you'll still need to take it in college.

i'd actually take AP Calc. then you can focus on stats & econ stuff in college.

Stat seems to be more helpful for Econ. You might want to go that route.

However, Calculus may look more impressive on your application. I'd take both at the same time if possible.

calc, you'll always have to learn calculus in college no matter what you do, while if for some reason you decide to change your major you may not be needing stat anymore

probably take AP Calc and try to take AP Stat @ the same time or even consider self-studying it

ya if you can't take them both at the same time, take AP stats and calc 1 at a cc and then you get college credit.

Take both at the same time if you can. AP Stats is considered an elective at my school and alot of students take precalc/stats or calc/stats at the same time.

Well my schedule Isn't going to allow for both so I guess I'll be taking Calc. Do you guys think It might be a good idea to take Stat at a local community college instead?

yeah take it there

Take AP Calc. AP Stats is a joke, and can be self-studied in a weekend. AP Calc is a joke too, but AP Stats is more so.

Plus AP Calc opens more doors.

Actually, AP Calc is more helpful in understanding econ. For example, P=MC...

take ap calc. ap stat is a joke of a class compared to ap calc.
