AP Statistics

I have heard from multiple people that this is a boring and easy class. I know it's really necessary to take it but I don't really want to waste a period next year if I don't have to..

I am going to try to take the AP exam this year without having taken the class. I'm going to buy a book and just study for a few months, and if I don't do well then I'll sign up for the class (I'm a junior).

For people that have taken the exam, is this a good idea? Do you think it can be done? How difficult is the test?

Don't be stupid and ignorant, take the class. I am taking it now and it's really really useful.

lol at comment above. I have heard that it is a very easy AP Exam to self study. I have also heard that Barron's is the best review book to use.

AP stats is a piece of cake. We take practice AP exams in class and I hardly if ever miss any questions. That'll be an easy 5 come May. If I were you I would take the class, because it's effing easy and its AP! It's just one class that looks good on a trascript, especially if you get a 5, and you hardly have to do any work cuz it's so easy.

Actually it depends. If you are a really strong math person and understand math concepts easily and quickly, then self studying is the best choice. Why would you waste a full period of time to study something that you don't need to spend time on.
But if you sometimes have trouble with math (more likely with calculus), I would suggest you to take the class, since the teacher would help you and prepare a lot for the test.

^ Exactly I'm a math person, and I don't want to sit in a class where I could teach myself the information.

I don't care if the class is easy credit, I want to take something that's worthwhile.

I'll probably do that then.

I am allowed to take this class on my own and if I get a 5 I can get AP credit for this.

I am planning to do this during Christmas break.

the class is awesome, rly easy
